Shockmaster and Rookie Bros

These are both two things that I wanted to make fanart of for a while and seeing as though I've started making sprite edits and how both are fanart of the Mario and Luigi series, why not make them sprites? I was originally going to only do Shockmaster (the top one) but I did like the idea for the bottom as well and they both had the theme of amnesiac and evil Mario bros in disguise.

The top row is 's creation who came up with the idea of a Mario and Luigi game that actually has Wario being playable instead of Luigi and Luigi is the brainwashed henchman of Waluigi aka Waluigi of the Water, and is turned into Shockmaster. I've seen other Mario and Luigi game ideas which feature Wario as a playable character but I like how in this version he isn't the third wheel and how despite not being playable, Luigi hasn't left the spotlight. I also really like his design. The updated one is on the left while the original is on the right and while the original is also pretty good, I prefer the left because he looks a lot less like Mr L and more like a new identity for Luigi specific to the M&L series.
I'd make the other characters but I'm not good at actually making characters unfortunately, only editing them. Mario is possible and Wario does have a sprite that I could hopefully edit, it's only Waluigi that doesn't have a 3DS styled sprite.

The bottom designs are by who came up with a what if scenario of Mario and Luigi becoming Popple's rookies due to amnesia. I kind of think that would also be a fun game idea but I guess most people would rather play as Wario and Waluigi if they wanted to play as thieves, though I wouldn't have thought they'd want to work for Popple. Maybe they'd fight the Wario bros instead. Either way it's a fun idea. I didn't include the sideways hats because I thought they'd look awkward if I attempted it. I also wanted to include the grins but their mouths are too small to attempt that. I also included an alternate palette to make their masks and pants the same colour as Bowser's mask when he became Rookie.

I chose to use Paper Jam's sprites for this because they're the most modern sprites and I kind of prefer Paper Jam's of Dream Team/Superstar Saga DX's sprites. I really like the 3DS sprites anyway. I don't really want to create proper sprite sheets for these unlike what I've done in the past because:

1. The 3DS sprites are much more complex than the 8 bit and 16 bit sprites
2. There are generally a lot more sprites because there's more frames in the animation and a lot more poses.

This is just a way of showing off how the characters would look in this style.

And this was entirely a coincidence, I'm not just going to make sprites of Mario characters with amnesia and taking new identities. I do have a couple more ideas for the 3DS styles Mario and Luigi sprites.
